For STEM camps

Accreditation for STEM camps and holiday programs.

STEM camps are a competitive market and parents rightly ask what a week or two of learning is actually worth. YLEA accreditation gives holiday and residential providers an independent quality mark.

Why get accredited

What accreditation does for your program

Justify the price to parents

A YLEA badge answers 'why does this cost more than a leisure camp?' with a concrete quality statement.

Fill camps earlier

Accredited programs give parents confidence to book earlier, especially at higher price points.

Trust from school partners

Schools and PTAs recommending holiday programs increasingly want independent quality signals, not just glossy brochures.

What we assess

How the six standards apply here

Program design

How the camp is structured across days, sessions, and skill tracks.

Structured learning hours

The genuinely-taught hours across the camp — not travel, meals, or free time.

Age-appropriate delivery

Pacing, group sizes, and difficulty matched to the age range you serve.

Evidence of learning

Projects, showcases, or portfolios that give parents something concrete at the end.

Safeguarding & staff conduct

Staff-to-learner ratios, safeguarding lead, DBS checks, and residential care if applicable.

Responsible tech use

How devices, AI tools, and any photo/data collection are handled with young learners.

How to get accredited

A clear path from first submission to a public quality mark.

    Submit your camp

Share the camp structure, age range, taught hours, and delivery format.

  2. Step 02

Reviewers assess your submission against the six YLEA standards.

  3. Step 03

    Badge & certificate

Approved camps receive the YLEA mark for your website and enrolment materials.

Common questions

Do you accredit residential camps as well as day camps?

Yes. Residential is in scope; safeguarding and pastoral-care evidence goes deeper for residential provision.

We run different camps in different weeks — one accreditation or several?

One camp program is accredited at a time. Most providers accredit their flagship program first and add others as they grow.

How far in advance should we apply before summer bookings?

As early as you can. Most first reviews complete in a few weeks, but leaving margin means the badge is live during your booking peak.

Is the accreditation valid across years?

Yes, for a fixed renewal period. You renew by submitting an updated application before the current period ends.
